Charging ahead: Our roaming network's 2024 growth

With time zipping by and just a few weeks left in 2024, we thought we’d stop to reflect on our CPO roaming network, which as of September stood at 827,000 charge points. That’s an incredible 30% growth since January.

As of September, we stood at 827,000 charge points. That’s an incredible 30% growth since January.

Organic growth of existing CPO partners and customers accounts for the largest portion of this expansion, but let’s not discount the significance of adding more than 40 new networks accounting for 10,000+ charge points.

We’ve added such CPO networks as EDEKA in Germany and Austria, Clenergy and Motor Fuel Group in the UK, the DC networks of Iberdrola|bp pulse and Edesa X HPC in Spain, plus smaller networks including ChargeIn Poland (PL), Covolt (NL), Stadtwerke Geesthacht (DE), and Alpha Mobility (IT). And for eMSP networks, we most recently added AutoSense (CH). In total, we’re now proud to count well over 400 partner networks located across 40 countries in our roaming ecosystem.

Our dedicated roaming team is steadfastly recruiting more CPO and eMSP roaming partners every day in order to keep adding value for our customers. Why?

More charge points, faster EV adoption

Every charge point, no matter whether located in a densely populated area, along a motorway, or tucked away in a remote getaway spot, is important for a driver seeking a charge. Drivers need confidence and convenience in locating, accessing, and paying for charging wherever they go, in order to adopt electric. That’s where eMSPs come in, providing valuable services for businesses and drivers which can include a myriad of options such as subscriptions, route optimisation, direct billing, usage insights and reporting.

GreenFlux eMSP customers benefit from the continuous growth of our roaming network without any ongoing effort. Incorporating our roaming network into their own services, eMSPs can offer their own fleet, business, or personal drivers seamless access to EV charging, no matter where they travel.

Our roaming network includes plenty of expert eMSPs that offer EV charging in their service portfolios. Notably, these include Shell Recharge, Plugsurfing, DKV Mobility, Vattenfall InCharge, Optimile, Allstar, Octopus Electroverse, and many more.

It’s pretty simple, the millions of drivers served by our partner eMSPs can easily locate, drive up and charge at our CPO customer networks. And that leads to another important reason we work so hard on growing our roaming network – improving utilisation for our CPO customers.

More traffic, higher utilisation

Utilisation is always a driving factor in a CPO’s business plan towards profitability. By leveraging our managed roaming service, our platform customers’ charge stations are more visible and easily accessible, resulting in increased traffic to their charge stations, and thus a faster path towards profitability.
