Charge Assist update: Detailed driver feedback and more!

This month, the Charge Assist app team focused on obtaining feedback from electric vehicle (EV) drivers about their charging experience per location. The team also looked at how we can better inform drivers about the specifics of a location, the energy mix, and the possible dynamic energy tariffs.

Read on to find out how exactly we did this.

More feedback to enhance the EV charging experience

We now give drivers the opportunity to provide extensive feedback per charging location. Drivers can indicate whether the charging point is accessible, occupied (though available in the app), and much more. These insights give you, as a charge point operator (CPO), insights to immediately improve the charging experience of drivers.

Boost your locations with Google reviews

To boost Google reviews as a CPO for your charge locations, it is now possible to redirect drivers to the review section. If a 4- or 5-star rating is given at the end of a charging session, the driver will be prompted for feedback.

Deliver a customised note to drivers

As CPO, you can now define custom notes to drivers using the app based on a charging location level. For example, this is helpful when you want to announce upcoming maintenance or provide specific parking directions. Drivers will be thankful for the clear guidance.

Show renewables where you can

Did you know we have the possibility of showing the exact energy mix at a charging location? We did already, but now the percentage can be clicked, and it opens a graph to make the composition clearer.
This will give drivers access to comprehensive information, enabling them to choose charging stations powered by renewable energy. Isn't this great green?

More clarity on dynamic tariffs

Since the previous release, the app supports "future tariffs". This means it shows dynamic tariffs for the next 24 hours. Price transparency is important to us, so to help drivers understand these tariffs, an explanation is added to the screen where the tariffs are displayed.

Other improvements and bug fixes

  • Search history
The Charge Assist app now stores the search history of the driver. This can help the user repeat the search more easily. These searches can also be removed from history.
  • Favorite location icon
The favorite icon has changed from a star to a heart. We would use the star to show feedback ratings instead of favorite locations. In addition, it is now possible to still see the charger availability when it is in a favorite location.
  • Confirmation to stop
We are now introducing a ‘confirmation’ option before stopping the session in Charge Assist. This way, drivers cannot stop the session by accidentally pressing the "Stop charging" button.
  • Payment reservation pop-up
The payment reservation pop-up shows when a driver wants to start a session with a direct payment method. The option now includes the pre-authorisation amount that will need to be reserved in their bank accounts.
  • Session graphs
Session graphs are now only shown when there is actual power consumption. To avoid showing an empty screen, click "Session details".

We'll be back with another Charge Assist update in two months!
