Smappee Partnership to Enhance Smart Charging Offering
GreenFlux, a provider of electric vehicle charging technology solutions, today announced its partnership with all-in-one energy management system provider Smappee.
Under the terms of the partnership, the companies cooperate to integrate their respective technology platforms, whereby Smappee supplies local meter data from its cloud platform to the GreenFlux cloud platform. Leveraging the partnership, GreenFlux significantly improves its already state-of-the-art smart charging solutions with the addition of building and phase optimisation capabilities.
GreenFlux utilises Smappee’s energy management technology to automatically adjust the charge rate of electric vehicles as building power consumption changes, in real-time, throughout the day. This allows for additional charge station placement without requiring a larger and more expensive grid connection at a site.
Smappee Infinity was the obvious choice for GreenFlux as it offers the most comprehensive set of energy data that can be implemented into any third-party system. GreenFlux employs Smappee’s local meter data to detect a location’s electrical topology and understand the exact electrical phase on which a single-phase EV is charging. With this information, unused capacity can be allocated safely to other vehicles charging at the site.
The addition of automated phase and building optimisation to our smart charging algorithm helps our customers realise significant, additional potential at local charging sites. — Lennart Verheijen, Head of Product Management at GreenFlux.
'Using our smart charging solutions, over ten times more charge stations can be utilised at a location without reinforcing the electrical installation. Especially when there is a mix of single and three-phase cars charging at a location, the gain is high.'
For charge point network operators, leveraging the GreenFlux smart charging solution directly leads to increased capital asset utilization and a faster return on investment.
'Reaching a state of positive cashflow as quickly as possible can be the difference between survival or death in this industry,' adds Verheijen,
'These smart charging solutions can save tens of thousands of euros in electrical installation costs per location.'
