GreenFlux’s EV roaming network reaches 1 million charge points in Europe

GreenFlux, a pioneering EV charging management software provider, has passed the 1,000,000 charge points mark with its EV roaming network. With that, the company confirms its leading position in EV roaming by offering one of the largest roaming networks in Europe.

The roaming journey started back in 2011 when GreenFlux was founded. Despite transforming into a charge point management software (CPMS) provider, the company continued building its EV roaming network. As the EV charging infrastructure across Europe kept growing, so did GreenFlux’s roaming as a service (RaaS) offering.

EV roaming journey to 1 million

From 100,000 charge points in early 2019 and 500,000 charge points in mid-2023, to 900,000 charging points in January this year. GreenFlux’s EV network has mirrored the fabulous EV growth in Europe. And now, this has led to an incredible 1,000,000 (one million) charge points all over Europe.

With its network, GreenFlux serves 37 European countries—approximately 80% of the European continent—and Turkey. All European Union member states are included. Most notably, the four leading countrieswith more than 100,000 charge points contributing to the networkare the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Belgium.

Reaching 1 million charge points is a fantastic accomplishment and a huge milestone for GreenFlux. Because of that, we now have one of the largest EV roaming teams AND network in Europe.

Suthalan Gnanes, Managing Director at GreenFlux

A great example of the EV roaming network’s size is that the longest distance between charge points within the GreenFlux EV roaming network is 4,584 km. That is between Ankara, Turkey, in the east and the Canary Islands, Spain, in the west. The network roughly covers most of the countries between Iceland, Finland, Spain and Turkey. However, GreenFlux is continuously looking to further expand to new countries.

The benefits of a large roaming network

Roaming is a strong flywheel to facilitate the adoption of EVs in Europe as it offers important benefits to EV drivers, CPOs and eMSPs. It takes away range anxiety and improves the driving experience for EV drivers; it enhances charge point utilisation rates for CPOS; and it expands reach for eMSPs’ service offering.

‘Reaching the 1 million charge points is a fantastic accomplishment and a huge milestone for GreenFlux,’ stated Suthalan Gnanes, managing director at GreenFlux. ‘After transforming into a CPMS provider, we’ve put a lot of effort into expanding our European roaming network and improving the roaming experience for our customers. Because of that, we now have one of the largest EV roaming teams AND network in Europe. I’d like to thank our roaming partners for their commitment, and everyone involved for this success for their hard work!’
