20,000 new EV charging points for ‘MRA-Electric’ powered by GreenFlux

TotalEnergies officials celeberating on the stage

TotalEnergies has won a large-scale tender for 20,000 new public EV charging points in the provinces of North-Holland, Flevoland, and Utrecht in the Netherlands. The contract was commissioned by MRA-Electric (MRA-E). 100% of the electricity for the EV charging network will be powered by renewable energy originating from the three provinces.

The demand for EV charging points is growing rapidly in the Netherlands. By 2030, the Ministry of Infrastructure estimates that around five million charging points will be needed, of which a quarter will be essential in public spaces. With the contract, the EV charging network will facilitate the strong growth of electric vehicles in the Netherlands. A significant share of electric drivers in the Netherlands charge their cars on the street.

GreenFlux is proud to be a project partner of MRA-Electric and TotalEnergies. With its cloud-based platform, GreenFlux offers a total solution for the management of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. TotalEnergies is responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining a large part of the charging network in the MRA-E region.

Hans de Boer, CEO GreenFlux: 'We are working on a future in which we have millions of EV charging points in the Netherlands. With our innovative smart charging technology, we can make large-scale charging networks such as MRA-Electric and other projects future-proof. The use of capacity management and renewable energy offers enormous benefits, both for the electric driver and the grid operator. This is also one of the cornerstones of the MRA-E project, which we will continue to develop together with TotalEnergies. Our mission at GreenFlux is to charge all electric cars on renewable energy. This is a great expansion!'
